Does your kitchen have a little extra space?
Or maybe it’s just lacking that extra something.
Have you ever considered turning that space into a breakfast nook?
I mean, breakfast is the most important meal of the day, why shouldn’t the space you enjoy it be equally as important?

Notice how in this colorful nook minimalism and simplicity seem to be key. Smooth clean lines and bold colors allow to tastefully show off bright colors instead of making them appear tacky.
If you like this breakfast nook, stick around.
Here’s how to achieve the look.
#1. The Docksta Dining Table
This table table is so stylish and minimalistic. It’s perfect for this nook because alone, it’s very beautiful, but also blends in seamlessly and does not detract from anything in the nook either. The neutral color emphasizes its clean lines and delicate shape.
#2. The Wishbone Chair
Hans J. Wegner for Carl Hanson & Son designed this chair. While pictured in red, it’s also available in other colors. This chair is so awesome because it has a steam-bent solid wood frame. The seat is hand-woven from paper cord. It’s durable, comfortable, and full of craftsmanship. A perfect addition to this nook, or really any part of your home.
#3. The Vintage Barn Pendant Hunter
If you haven’t seen The Vow yet, you should. The set design is to die for, and there are industrial lights like this in the kitchen. They’re not identical to this exact lamp, but it’s definitely the industrial inspired them! The Barn Pendant Hunter was a lamp that was popular in the last century and the finish was changed to revamp the lamp.
#4. The Dualit Newgen Toaster
Now that we have the breakfast nook almost completed, we need to add some decor in here. To help complete this look, this classic toaster has a switch that let’s you choose how many slots are in use. It also has a defrost setting as well as bagel and bun options. Too cute! I love the retro design and color!
#5. Wall Plates
Decorative ceramic plates make great decor for the wall. They’re not the most savvy these days, but are great when you want to add a more of a vintage vibe to your nook. Vintage inspired decor tends to make the home feel more warm and inviting, which is perfect to contrast the modern furniture which can feel a bit cold at times. Also, you can find plates that are very colorful, which help complete this look. This idea works well with plane white decorative plates against a bold wall color.
The main idea when decorating a wall with plates is to think out of the box. Even if the plates are not a modern decoration you can use them to break the monotony of your home and to create something original. Floral prints are usually common. They bring joy and color to the decor and they’re also reminiscent of antique and traditional compositions. But there are also other themes to explore as well. Since these plates are usually hand-painted, each one of them is unique and different. It’s one more element that makes your decor original.
So there you have it. This is the framework of the style of this nook.
But really, it’s purely customizable to your taste. You can add decor, subtract decor, change the colors. The sky’s the limit! Be sure to check out other great decor tips from home edit.
