Do you have a closet in your home or apartment that’s just piling up with junk that you call “storage.”
What if you downsized your space a bit and gutted everything out of the closet to actually made some use of it?
Whether you live in a small space or big home, converting an unused or improperly used closet is a perfect idea for creating your own little working space.
At downsize my space, expert interior designer and blog author, Candace shares her knowledge on how to increase the functionality of your home by downsizing your space. She has many organizational tips as well as other advice on how to downsize. One solution she’s noticed among her peers is the emergence of the closet office.
One of my favorite solutions that I have seen is the closet office! In a smaller living quarters, sometimes the office space is the first to go but with a little creativity, one can put that workspace back into the plan!
Prepare to get inspired to convert one of your own closets into an office…
Organization is also important in the process of converting the closet into a home office. Organizing the contents of your closet before converting it into a home office is crucial. It’s just a matter of getting rid of what you don’t need and organizing what you already have. Find a new home for items if need be.
This is a great idea, taking something like a bureau and converting it to a hidden work area. This idea is so great because it helps hide the clutter that occurs in the home office. Plus, concealing your organization is always a plus. It just makes things look so much more neat and tidy.
This caters to the girly-girl in all of us. It’s amazing how this space is completely converted to a different area. It even gets your mindset in a more office oriented frame of mind. And in this space, the added table is nice, for extra working space. However, the disco ball might be a little over the top, but this is just an example of what you can do with this idea.
This closet office definitely utilizes the maximum storage capacity without feeling overly cluttered and ugly. The white keeps everything looking simple, clean, and very minimalistic. I love the organization tactics here! We have the nice storage bins on top, and beneath very tidy small slotted open-faced storage. And I just love the little desk with the small white what looks to be TV stand. My favorite part though, are the organized storage on the doors. So clever!
Best part of this idea… If it gets messy, just shut the doors! I don’t advise it, but the convenient factor is that at least if you’re working till the wee hours of the morning, you can shut the doors and worry about the mess later. So, what are you waiting for? Clean out that closet, donate your junk, and convert your extra closet into an awesome home office!
