They’re so easy to make! This idea is inspired by the planters made by IKEA.
I really like the unpredictable nature of this project. No two planters are
alike so you don’t have to worry about making everything super precise.
I think that makes it more fun and adds an element of surprise.
It also guarantees that you’ll have a unique piece of functional art every time.
And who doesn’t want that??
How to make drip paint planters:
You need some ceramic planters (or vases and bowls)
like the ones pictured above. You can find them
at your local craft, dollar, or hardware store.
Also, you’ll need wall paint. Pick whatever colors you want.
Have fun with this! If you don’t have wall paint on hand, sometimes stores have clearances paint, so be on the lookout for that!
When you’re ready for color, dip the planters into the paint on the opposite side you want the paint to drip down on. So, if you want color on the lip of the planter and have it drip down to the base… dip the lip of your planter in the color.
Then let the paint dry. It takes about two hours for it to dry.
There you have it. Easy peasy nice easy.
