The design plan was to create an outdoor “room” protected from the sun with the feeling of an enclosed space, but still one that feels open and breezy… I also threw in a few of my own finds so the space didn’t look completely ’out of a catalog’.
Before, the patio area was a barren, boring area with only a few iron chairs to start with….
But to have an end result like this?
It’s like a patio I would see in Better Homes and Gardens or Martha Stewart, or something. I just can’t get over how well planned and beautiful this little outdoor sanctuary is.
I just love the way she used half-cut wine barrels from a hardware store. And the way she finished that trunk and whitewashed it for that beautiful effect.
And the beautiful white curtains? She made those too! Combining store-bought items with DIY is the perfect way to customize your space.
This is such a gorgeous example of rustic and contemporary well blended. There isn’t anything in this decor scheme that looks extraneous.
