Are you ready for a hefty dose of creativity coming at you?
Do you have an outdoor room that needs some serious help?
If you’re looking to revamp your patio area, look no further.
Recently, she was in NYC for Lowe’s Home Improvement charity event where three outdoor rooms were created by selected designers.
This is the perfect summer room. Perfect for drinking the morning cup of coffee or tea, perfect for some leisurely reading, perfect for a little siesta in the afternoon and perfect for entertaining company! Perfect sums up this room. I love it all too much. Especially how all of the colors really pop and work well with each other creating the perfect contrast. The light also creates this whimsical feeling.

Designed by Elaine Griffin, her approach to this space was to layer it with texture, color and pattern.
The use of fun colors like yellow and purple and blue liven the space and make it uplifting. The color combined with the plants and flowers make it a perfect garden sanctuary to hide away from the world all summer long. Even the outdoor lamps look fabulous.
Another great idea from this room is to layer rugs. Melissa talked about having neutral dirt hiding rugs, which I’m sure many people have on their patio, but it seems like using those rugs might get boring after a while. I mean, yes neutral dirt hiding rugs perfect for protecting your deck from mud and other various messes, but it still lacks that pizazz of color. Now you can have the best of both worlds and layer carpets with this awesome outdoor decorating trend.
How fun would it be to host your own movie night with your own little movie previewing area? I love the faux story board on what looks like a chalkboard wall. Gotta love the chalkboard wall. If all else fails, you don’t have to have any fancy drawings on the wall, a fun idea is to let your guests sign their name on the wall.
This outdoor movie night themed patio was designed by Danny Seo.
With a canvas drop cloth movie screen it’s simple to create your own personal movie theater in your own patio. This has potential for super summer celebrations. Who wouldn’t want to enjoy the weather and watch their favorite movie outside with some popcorn?
I also have to admit, I love the decor, especially the bird pillows. Even if Portlandia does poke fun at the, “Put a bird on it,” designing trend.
This room is perfect for anyone whose idea of a great summer night is with a dinner party or a nice quiet dinner with the family under the stars. First of all, this is one of my favorite wall colors ever. It’s almost like Aqueduct by Sherwin-Williams (it’s like Tiffany Blue). And I love the walla of succulents. Living art is beautiful.
This charming outdoor dining space designed by Marcela Valladolid featured lush plants, beautiful flowers, artwork, colorful dishes and fun star lights strung over the great table and slipcovered chairs! And as a unique and eye-catching focal point, she created an incredible succulent wall — true living art!

This is by far the most elegant and sophisticated room of them all. There’s this contemporary beach-y vibe that is relaxing and also very pulled together at the same time. I’m in love with those little Terra-cotta planters on the bottom right.
If you had to pick just one of these rooms for your patio which one would it be? I might have to pick the first room for my own patio, but it’s such a difficult choice!
